[15.07.24] Please join us for a morning at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens!

Calthorpe Residents Society has organised a morning event for members at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on Friday August 16th from 10.00 to 12.00. There will be an opportunity to hear about developments at the Gardens as well as to join a tour of the Gardens with a couple of their Senior Horticulturalists.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided and from 12:00,  members may wish to stay for lunch and enjoy the (hopefully sunny) afternoon. If you wish to attend, please reply to info@calthorperesidents.org.

[15.07.24] Calthorpe Residents Society has organised a guided walk through the campus of the University of Birmingham and its surroundings on Thursday August 8th, 2024. The University is not only one of Britain’s largest and most respected universities, but its campus is also without doubt one of the most interesting and beautiful.

The circular walk will start at University Station at 10.30am and will be led by well-known local Blue Badge Tour Guide, Ian Jelf. The walk will last between 90 and 120 minutes, during which you will discover some of the campus’s many hidden stories and learn about the people and history behind the various buildings on site.

There is a small charge of £5 for this event (payable on the day) which is also open to non-members. If you are interested in joining us on this walk, or have any questions concerning the event, then please reply to this email or contact us at info@calthorperesidents.org

It is expected that this event will be very popular, therefore places will be offered on a first come first served basis

Ian Jelf is a Registered Tourist Guide for London, the Heart of England and the South West. Further information from and about Ian is available at www.bluebadge.co.uk. Now Podcasting; listen at https://anchor.fm/ian-jelf
